HARFA: SCREENSHOTS AND TUTORIALS: FRACTAL ANALYSIS - RANGE

Fractal Analysis
  • Range Analysis (HarFA 5.1)
  • Let's explore what does a fractal spectrum represent. The loaded picture on the left side of the screen is an enlargement (cca 100x) of the interface between the printed and non-printed part of a newspaper. If you want to characterize objects like this as fractal, you don't know which part of colour information should be masked to form corresponding fractal. You have to form all possible fractals, determine their fractal dimension and then examine fractal dimension as a function of masking conditions. And that represents a fractal spectrum. Each data-point of spectrum is coloured according to the masked hue (intensity, red, green, blue channel). You can save, load and zoom the fractal spectrum.
