Filtration
SmoothKuwahara
Kuwahara filter belongs to the group of rank value filters, in the literature is often marked as an edge-preserving filter, which smoothes the images without disturbing the sharpness and the position of edges. The principle of its work is this: a filtration matrix is divided into four regions (a, b, c, d). In each of the four regions (a, b, c, d), the mean brightness and the variance are calculated. The output value of the centre pixel (abcd) in the window is the mean value of that region that has the smallest variance.
The scheme of the Kuwahra filtration
HarFA user can alter filtration matrix radius and by this the amount of the smoothing effect. We can enter values from 1 to 15.
