Fractal Analysis
Determining the fractal dimension and fractal measure (HarFA 5.1)
So, we have a colour picture and we want to know it's fractal dimension and fractal measure. Is necessary to treshold it first. After tresholding you should select the proper kind of spectrum (Discrete / Continouos). Finaly you can change parameters of mesh used by the Box Counting Method (minimum and maximum size of mesh square and number of steps between this values. Then you should press Start button. A graph with three functions will appear. Slopes of this functions are fractal dimensions (black, black&white, white) and segments on regressions lines are fractal measures. The difference between Discrete and Continuous spectrum is in distance of adjacent datapoints (Continuous - step one, discrete - logarithmical step). You can remove selected datapoints by clicking on it by mouse, and you can zoom the graph in and out. The graphical data are automatically saved as a text file and can be loaded in future.
